Letter From the Principal
Dear Cunha Intermediate School Community,
It is with great excitement and humility that I welcome you to the 2025–26 school year as Cunha’s principal. I look forward to continuing to work alongside our incredible community of teachers, staff, and families to ensure Cunha remains a safe, supportive, and rigorous learning environment for all students.
I have spent over a decade working in public education—as a Spanish Immersion and Math/Science teacher, and most recently as Cunha’s Dean of Students and Assistant Principal for the past three years. Throughout my career, I’ve learned that in order to help students thrive and reach their full potential, we must hold them to high expectations while also building strong, authentic relationships with them and their families. At Cunha, our goal is for students to leave 8th grade not only academically prepared for high school but also socially and emotionally resilient, well-rounded, and empathetic individuals.
Community is at the heart of our ongoing success at Cunha. I encourage everyone to be part of this collaborative effort—students, staff, and families all play a critical role in supporting our students and school. Whether by attending school events, participating in the PTO, Booster Club, School Site Council, or ELAC committee, your involvement is deeply valued.
To those of you I’ve already had the pleasure of meeting, I look forward to continuing to support you and your students as they navigate this important time in their lives—middle school. And to those I haven’t yet met, I’m excited to connect with you during summer orientation, Back-to-School Night, or out on the yard during morning drop-off—please don’t hesitate to say hello. My door is always open.
I’m truly honored to continue being a part of this remarkable school community. Let’s make this our most respectful, responsible, positive, and safe school year yet.
Go Cubs!
Sincerely,
Victor Guzman
